@wtrcf123 there's a great exi500 thread on rcgroups. Lots of pictures.

@notasixpack yea i had to end up doing that but thanks. Ooooo ok the makes since. Which part that comes with the heli do you use to hold the tail servo on there? there is one with 3 holes and 1 with 1 hole. and do use one to mount the vertical and horizontal stabilizer.

@wtrcf123 if I'm understanding the question, you take the boom block halves apart, snake the tail case and belt thru boom, put the gear on the belt, THEN put the 2 boom block halves together (all outside the heli). Tighten it up enough to not move, then mount the boom block, boom, tail all together. THe 2 servo mounts on the rear is a choice. USe the left OR right one (trex manual says right?) Tail servo mounts on boom!

how did you get the belt on the inside of the frame where the main gear wheels attach to it to make it spin? I cant get it on and idk of anyway to pop it up to slip it on? and why are there four servo places when you use only 3 servos on the frame? is the 4th one the tail servo? thanks for the help im kinda new if you didnt notice.
13t pinion works well on most 5mm shaft mottors ...exept for typhon motor u need a 11t hard to find......

What size pinion are you using with your setup? 11,12,13, and how long are your flight times?

@jminors 11T (hard to find!). I think I have my timer set to 5 or 6 minutes. Sometimes I fly it pretty hard.

@notasixpack Ok, that would explain my problem then. I'm using a 12 and only getting just over 4mins.
Also, did you have any major problems with your EXI 500? Mine has been plagued with issues. Mainly stripping of the soft aluminum parts like the servo clamps, stabilizer boom clamp and the tail box. replaced with Align parts except the servo clamps which just stripped out today.
I've also got a really bad vibration which has loosened every Loctited screw in the tail section. head's balanced 2

@jminors ouch. Here's my list of replaced parts, some align, some Tarot (from HK but really good). Align: tail servo clamps, plastic tail case, plastic tail pitch slider, main gear, tail drive gear, auto gear landing gear, paddles, tail blades. Tarot: upper/lower mixing arms, headblock, Had a nice metal tail case but trashed twice in crashes, so now using align plastic. No problems stripping servo clamps, don't overtighten? Vibration - ugh. try an align tail drive gear + bearings?
