The Florida Keys and Key West is launching a new TV spot highlighting "green tourism" in The Florida Keys. The spot was created by Tinsley Advertising in Miami, Florida. The spot begins with beautiful scenics of the Keys as the voice over says: "To protect the natural beauty of the Florida Keys, we've made some changes. Like how we get around. How we interact with nature. What we take and what we give back. But it's the things we will never change that will change you forever." The imagery includes an energy saving light bulb, a "green lodging" sign in front of a hotel, a hybrid Key West taxi, a wildlife refuge, a fisherman releasing a fish and multiple shots of pristine Florida Keys environments including underwater footage. "Our research shows that 77% of Americans who consider themselves "green", feel predisposed toward products supporting sustainability, and are seeking destinations that are environmentally friendly." said John Underwood, Account Supervisor at Tinsley. "Our goal was to not only promote the natural beauty of the Keys but to let the world know that our hotels, fishing guides, dive operators, and residents are committed to protecting this unique environment" said Dorn Martell, Creative Director at Tinsley. The spots will be running on national cable TV beginning in January.
