Opening track from "Soul Station" album. Recorded at the Van Gelder Studios, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey on February 7, 1960. Hank Mobley (tenor saxophone); Wynton Kelly (piano); Paul Chambers (bass); Art Blakey (drums). This is one of my favorites all time jazz sessions , then I decide to make a second video for this tune by Irving Berlin.

  • "Soul Station" it's one of my favorite all time Jazz sessions. Due for this, I decide to post an alternative video version from three cuts from the album, including this one by Irving Berlin. Enjoy!

  • Wynton Kelly must be a contender for 'Most Unsung Hero of Jazz Piano' - at least as far as public recognition is concerned. His unique ear for melody and swing and sublime ability to accompany makes him one of the giants.

  • Great tune!! Thanks for the post, rogerjazzfan.

  • Hank looks like Dwight Howard.

  • paul chambers is was one helluva bass player,Im checking out his complete command over that big bass

  • @GiuzColtrane this is so true. It's so honest and easy-going.

  • an underrated Hank tells his story with a hall of fame rhythm section. It doesn't get much better than this!

  • Straight ahead! Thanks, Roger.

  • I might exagerate, but his solo over "Remember" to me should be on the top chart of the 10 best solos of the century. No kidding!
