Tennessee and federal officials gathered at West End Middle School in Nashville Aug. 10, 2011, to talk about ongoing education reforms in the Volunteer State. Gov. Bill Haslam moderated the panel discussion which included U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, Tennessee Education Commissioner Kevin Huffman, state Achievement School District Superintendent Chris Barbic, Tennessee Education Association President Gera Summerford and President and CEO of the State Collaborative on Reforming Education Jamie Woodson.

  • All secret police should be removed from our schools teachers should be removed promptly if they harass students and the staff support they cling to should be removed much to the relief of the tax payer.
