Don't be discouraged. TheCameraEye11 needs to read any entry level college text on sociology, before making such incredibly inane statements about the realities of human pair bonding, with zero credible evidentiary support. He is confusing attraction with marriage. The sociological term he is badly misinterpreting is homogamy, which refers to the tendency of people who have similar characteristics to marry one another. THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS ATTRACTION. HE DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ASIANS.

i speak proper english and it erks me when people say that i talk white. why does seeing a word and saying it how it is pronounced anything other than that. i am proud to be black (even though we have so many stereo types). i don't want to call thecameraeye11 guy stupid, but people like him are the reason people can't just like what they want and not have any questions behind it... you are blessed to be with someone that you fit with, and i hope that you two have an extremely happy marriage...

@rainonmebi thats the way that I feel. I think that I act American. I believe that many people are confused by subcultures or urban cultures vs ethnic cultures. Because hip hop is a subculture that was created by and comprised mostly of Black people, many people believe that it is Black culture-rather than a subculture. When a Black person does not conform to hip hop culture, people mistakenly assume that that person is rejecting Black culture.

first off, congrads to you and your husband. second, we didn't start race but it is here. but what we do have is culture. we would all be lying if we didn't say all cultures didn't have their own way of talking,eating,drinking,sleepi­ng,etc. some are not to far off from each other. i agree with some things you said but i also agree with some things TheCameraEye11 said as well. at the end of the day all we can do is find some who loves us for us and work on the rest.

I don't think there are differencence in any race. All Races have things in common. So what if the culture is different, we all are part of the Human Race and we all have things in common, no matter what race or part of life we come from.

GIRL, you should disagree with EVERYTHING he said...He was pretty much saying....that he wants/believes people to always be segregated... I believe most racism is caused because of "bred-segregation" and he is a perfect example of it. He was probably brought up to "ACT BLACK" like he would put it. He is being stereotypical. If people would stop trying to separate themselves by the way they act....(i duno because they think they have something to prove) the world would weed out this Racism junk.

@mindcontrol31 well I also think as the population grows and we just start to see that no matter our cultural difference we all essentially want the same things, to be loved, it becomes easier to make that leap...I won't lie though--it does get frustrating trying to explain where I am coming from in my experiences as a woman of color but to his credit he is willing to listen and come to an understanding...thanks friend for your kind discourse...

@sepiasiren Its growing because many BP have given up on each other, for good reason I hate to admit. I think that if more WM are willing to do what yours did and BW are willing to give WM what they want we will see an increase. People will change and make sacrifices for what they desire and in order for the average sista to be with a WM she is either gonna have to be different or become different.
