Each winter/spring, Discovery Divers hosts a series of workshops that incorporate pool work and afternoon lectures/workshops. This is an example of mid water equipment removal and replacement and part of the overall Buoyancy Control Specialist training we developed.

If you live in the Tokyo/Kanagawa area and are interested in diving (or learning how) give us a shout. We also arrange diving for those coming from overseas. (DiscoveryDiversTokyo.Com)

FAQ: Videos of skills of any kind always attract a lot of jack-off comments from "internet divers"...let me reply in advance:

Comment: Why in the pool (why not in ocean)?
Reply: Because we often have pool session in the winter and spring. The pool sessions are solely for skills work. Also, the viz in the ocean is often not conducive to filming.

Comment: Why in wetsuit...why not in drysuit/gloves/etc?
Reply: This is a common "wannabee" comment. You do the skill wearing whatever you think should be worn, film it and post on You tube and link it for all to see. Until then, best keep to internet diving...

Dive Safe everyone!

  • Never hold your breath underwater as this person does when he takes the regulator out of his mouth. You should always have a small stream of bubbles coming out of your mouth.
