I was standing under a canopy at Trail Days in Damascus. It had started raining a little, when these folks walked up and asked to stand there and do a little tune. Unfortunetly, my camera ran out of memory and the song got cut short. Sorry...
One of my viewers has been kind enough to identify the 3 playing here. Adam Larkey on fiddle-- Sara Grace Larkey singing -- Eric Larkey on guitar.

  • The song is Steel Rails. It was recorded by Allison Kraus in her early years. Steel Rails was written by Louisa Branscomb in 1971. According to Adams web site they have or are about to release a CD.

Looking closer at the video the guitar play in the dark is probably Adam's dad Eric, not James Story.

  • @eyeseeeyou Thanks for the info. You're probably right about it being his dad. They looked like a family, I kinda figured the song was called Steel rails but you never know about some songs. I didn't want to get the title wrong.

  • Adam (fiddle) and Sara Grace Larkey and James Story on guitar

  • @eyeseeeyou Thanks! Do you know the name of the song and cd too?

  • Steel Rails is a great song and only made better by the Larkeys doing it together. You were lucky to run into them that rainy day.

  • very well done and what voices you both share. You and your sister will go places in life, many talents, make your parents proud as they already are I'm sure. Keep on inspiring youngsters and all of us for this matter. I too would like a CD as well. Thanks again.

  • Very Beautiful! Love the two kids singing together! Sarah's voice is lovely. Adam's, too!

  • I want a CD, what an amazing family.

  • These kids are so talented. Very nice sibling vocal harmony, sweet fiddlin' and the gutsy young voice of Sarah Grace. Loved it.

  • Awe, James story is my brother:)

    no lie.
