I'm a fan of River Phoenix but this song is inappropriate. This song is about a humble man, no Hollywood actor count for that. This song is about a poor person, River was not. This song is about a person who passed away alone quietly. River was a hypocrite who drop dead in rock club from heroin. Lets be honest and save wonderful songs like these for people who deserve them.
