How does an anti-lag system work? What is an anti-lag system? In the video I explain one type of ALS, which uses an ignition timing delay in order to maintain the boost levels provided by the turbocharger for the engine.

If i had a a injector that just injected fuel vapors into the exhaust wouldn't that do the same job ?

I suppose, but you need air in there as well, and that would also cause you to have more fuel injectors/fuel lines. Probably more safe and cheaper to just run air lines.

So are ALS something that is always happening? like is your ignition always delayed or is it only for launching the car or only when you are off the throttle?

No, not always happening. Basically when you let off the throttle it will kick in, so that you can maintain boost while switching gears.

Surely this could cause fuel to still be ignited at the point which it passes through the turbine? Isn't that bad? :S and also is ALS purely ECU or is there some mechanical component required?

Yes, it's bad (not ideal). And there are programmable and physical options: check my video ALS bypass valve.

just for the dummy behind the weel to feel like he looks cool. Normally N/A engines don't have it because there is no turbine to keep spooled up for a boost preassure.

Do you feel this ALS eventually leads the turbine failure?
