Disagree with you on this issue. Legalizing internet gambling will cause the government to grow because of new bureaucracy. I'd rather have it illegal and unadvised and let people participate in internet gambling at their own risk. Also, unfortunately too many minors are doing internet gambling using their parents money and becoming addicted.
Consumer protection? Did he seriously say consumer protection? When has John Campbell ever voted to protect consumers, like with a consumer protection agency that he voted against creating recently. And if freedom is about protecting what Americans want to do, should they be allowed to dump toxic chemicals into the ocean because it's what they want to do?
There's a great idea for government — leave people alone when they're not harming anybody. Let the market regulate it though. Throw in, "and we're not going to subsidize their losses with welfare." and you've got a deal!
Otherwise, you're removing risk from gambling, sort of like we did with the bailouts. In the bailouts, the Feds staked the banks with printed money, sent them to the casinos, and told them they could keep all their winnings. Their losses would be on the taxpayers, right John?
@mjhonsun Exactly let people participate in internet gambling at their own risk.

Raising tax revenue is a tax.
They keep thinking if they hide it we don't pay it.
