Over 370 tubas and euphoniums performing "Joy to the World" on December 4th, 2009. The event was held at the Lyric Theatre and was generously hosted by the Kansas City Symphony. This year's event had about five times the number of participants of last year's event, and may end up being one of the largest Tuba Christmas events in the country!

The event hosted by the KC Symphony's Executive Director Frank Byrne (who also served as MC for the event) and the symphony's education manager Steven Murray. The performance was conducted by the talented Scott Watson from KU.

This was recorded from the balcony because there were so many performers that they took up the whole floor of the auditorium!

  • Nice to know that as I can tell some people to put it in the part of the bell that does not see the sun then---- as horn players are always trying to get things out the bell... Thanks for the tip!!

  • @hrntchr It's a public event. If it's a performance shown to the public for free, you don't need permission from anyone to post it on YouTube (or any other site for that matter). However, you would need it if it was a performance you paid to attend.

  • damnnnnnnnn that shit was tight yo

  • How do you get approval of all 370 to put this on youtube??? I,m getting a lot of flack about youtube performances..
