What a legend!

Great throwing from Geoff, this was in Cwmbran, Wales i believe in 1980.
My only criticism is i wished he had saved it for the Moscow Olympics, it would of been good for a Gold medal, but super put nevertheless.

amazing how he already opens up landing in the power position...

My dad saw him throwing warm-up 22m+ on an indoor championship, but he couldn't get it right for the actual competition :P

I just checked Wikipedia and it says that Myerscough broke Geoff's records in 2002 and 2003 respectively. Either way holding any title for three decades is nothing short of legendary.

bettyswollox - there was an article in Athletics Weekly about all the outdoor UK records. It was said that Myerscough's 21.92m was never ratified from the NCAA outdoor champs. The record was given back to Capes' 21.68m.
