As we drove through the grass prairie grassland, nothing could have prepared us for the awesome sight thats was soon to come upon us known as the Dakota Bad Lands. Our Journey took us through Pine ridge Indian Reservation passing through Scenic with an overnight stop at Wall, because darkness arrived so quickly we returned the next morning And on both occasions met with some of the most awesome colour spectacles that will long remain in memory. At Badlands National Park, weird shapes are etched into a plateau of soft sediments and volcanic ash, revealing colourful bands of flat-lying strata that has taken some 75 million years of erosion that now form Badlands National Park. Drive the Badlands taking the Loop Road, you will find scenic overlooks and signs explaining some of what you see. Many of these overlooks contain Toilet and water facilities. Bring your binoculars! If you are lucky, you may spy bison or pronghorn grazing, or spot a coyote stalking rodents, or perhaps catch a glimpse of bighorn sheep delicately picking their way across the steep slope, to actually film them at night made all our dreams had come true, And above all, you will experience quiet. The near absence of human noise is deafening, see and enjoy more as our fly drive continues
If your looking for somewhere to stay, take a look at the nearby city of Wall and pay a visit to “Wall Drug” this is an amazing place to visit. Also “Pine Ridge” made famous by the massacre at “Wounded Knee”
