Well, maximum 411, all I can say is that she was fed unlimited TIMOTHY hay (as confirmed by her prior caretakers) and she DIED from being OBESE. I was horrified by her rapid, and heartbreaking, decline and death. It was not pretty.

The rabbit did not get fat off of timothy hay- that's impossible. If it was alfalfa hay, that's another story, but timothy hay should be supplied at all times. When I first got rabbits we fed them alfalfa pellets with only occasionally timothy hay, and as a result one of the rabbits stopped eating due to severe impaction and would have died without veterinary intervention. ALWAYS GIVE YOUR RABBITS TIMOTHY HAY!

This is for people who do not substitute animals for humans. In other words; people who enjoy their animals but do not become OCD about them.
Unlimited hay is NOT a good idea!! I have recently rescued a mini-rex who should way 3 lbs who weighs 7-8 lbs because of her caretakers who believed that line about "unlimited" hay. She's so fat she can hardly hop the poor critter! Also, a 4x4 cage is RIDICULOUS! They can live with us but do NOT need to take over!! A 24x24 small breed, 30x30 lg-plenty!

PLease educate people on the rabbits diet such as they need unlimited timothy hay and they should not be kept in anything smaller that 4x4 x pen or cage. Caging a rabbit is a horrible thing. I have 4 house rabbits who are all potty trained to go in there liter box with the hay that they need to be healthy. Those rabbits need toys and something to stand on please. Do not encourage people to put them in such a small cage and please let them know they need there exercise. Search Bunny Bunch
