Yeah he still got his sandy powers. But he cant do some of the stuff he used to do with the Shukaku in him. :D

i havent seen gara lately in naruto shipuden dose he still have all his power and stuff even though he got the deamon out of him?

Gaara does die in naruto shippuden, the akatsuki take gaara and extract his bijuu (shikaku), but one of the elders of konoha sacrifices her life to gaara by tansferring her chakra into gaara, along with naruto helping her. Afterwards, gaara wakes up and goes into recovery.
Gaara no longer has skikaku in him.
