France, 1640: Cyrano, the charismatic swordsman-poet with the absurd nose, hopelessly loves the beauteous Roxane; she, in turn, confesses to Cyrano her love for the handsome but tongue-tied Christian. The chivalrous Cyrano sets up with Christian an innocent deception, with tragic results. Much cut from the play, but dialogue not rewritten.
Cyrano De Bergerac sure has the nose for that woman! a big nose that is.

the version with depardieu is the most famous, but, sorr, not the best (except for christian, because vincent perez is beautiful..). however, if you wanna see the best version, that will be with jacques weber... he really LIVES as cyrano, he ID cyrano and that's fantastic..

I love Cyrano De Bergerac DEARLY! Infact, I am in the stage production thats comming up in Washington!
I love this version, though I must say, my heart lies with the French version with Depardieu as Cyrano. Possibly because it was the first I watched, maybe because Christian was the most dashing and striking in my oppinion.
*sigh* I LOVE the storyline and script!
