Halloween II is a 1981 horror film and the second installment in the Halloween series. The film was directed by Rick Rosenthal, written by John Carpenter and Debra Hill, and is a direct sequel to the first film. Set on the same night of Halloween 1978 in the fictional town of Haddonfield, Illinois the seemingly unkillable Michael Myers follows his intended victim Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) to a nearby hospital while Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence) is still in pursuit of his patient.
Stylistically, Halloween II reproduces certain key elements that made the original Halloween a success, such as first-person camera perspectives and unexceptional settings. The sequel was a box office success, grossing over $25.5 million in the United States.
Halloween II was intended to be the last chapter of the Halloween series to revolve around Michael Myers and Haddonfield, but after the lackluster reaction to Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982), Michael Myers returned seven years later in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988).
In both Friday the 13th part 2 and Halloween 2 Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers kill a woman with both the characters being named Alice and they kill them nearly identical, also both films were released in 1981 and have recaps from the first films, ironic isn't it.

I almost pretty much have the first two as equal just because this plays so well of the original, but it brings an even more creepy feel to it.

great review matt
h1 and h2 weren't the first in this series I saw (that would be h6), but they are my two favorites. I love how it has the same tone as the first film, plus gore that has it's place. I never noticed that Jamie Lee was wearing a wig; even now I don't

I like this one, but I do think it gets a little boring at times. However, I do feel that this should be the template for how to make a sequel. You follow the tone and feel of the previous movie and find a way to escalate it, but not too much.

Halloween II > Halloween. The scene with the nurse on the operating table with her blood drained all over the floor is creepy as fuck.
