Is there a way a infantryman can get in to the 160th without reclassing to a mechanic or pilot? (ie. a "dismount", or door gunner (mos?))

@dustin720 There are no 'door gunner' MOS'es in thebArmy, only the Air Force has one.
To be a crew cghief you would need to be an aviation mechanic, or other MOS within their spectrum. As stated, the 160th is an Aviation unit only. Grunts usually don't even work with the Night Stalkers. You could always try and get into the 75th Ranger Regiment, they work with the 160th almost daily.

@MH6M wait im confused, i know there are no door gunner mos. But then how do you get to be the door gunner in the 160th?

@andrademeza Air crews quallify for the possition. You'd have to assess for flight status and them assess again to be a part of the crew as a door gunner.

@MH6M So im curious, NIGHT STALKER's is basically an aviation flet? so no "dismounts" all they do is fly other infantry men in and out?
So in a way they are like SWCC in the navy, they transport men into battle.. correct?

@Studman2011 Yes, only difference is they operate solely with SOF units. But there are exceptions.
