Thank you so much! Spent 25 years during those tuff times and the boardwalk fire. Raised my kids at the SeaView Towers S. Bath and Ocean. Faced the boardwalk and that great view we loved it!
Long Branch is my home town. Everything I read about Long Branch and Asbury Park say that they were in decline by the 1960s. But as a child during that decade, all I remember are fun times at the boardwalks and beaches in Long Branch and Asbury.
great video. i used to go to long branch with my family from jersey city alot in the 80s. i was 10 when the pier caught fire, i used to have dreams of still being there. your video bought back good memories. thanks for sharing.
I'm only 25, but i definitly remember wizard world.....although steves down the block was WAY better. It had less games, but it had ALL the new games first. I'll never forget playing street fighter 2 and mortal kombat for the first times there.
Well done. I may remember it differently (as I was only nine when Long Branch's pier burned down) but I only lived two blocks from it. I remember falling asleep as a little kid with the window open and hearing the organ of the Hunted Mansion, playing "Operation Wolf" at Wizard's World, watching Bam Bam Bigelow at AP Convention Hall, and Tillie's face (years later) as I drove past the abandoned Empress, the abandoned carousel and the failing XXX theatres.
Long branch sucks
