@71lanlee I am not saying they dictate it I am just saying that it should represent both the French people and the English I like the unofficial bi-lingual national anthem better than the English
-
@MrJero85 I am not saying that we are all bi-lingual I am saying that our country is classified as a bi-lingual country

@pally3200 I am from Nova Scotia and my thoughts have not changed no matter whatever people say

English French, anglophone francophone what EVER!! Why can't we just be immensely proud of the fact that we are CANADIAN!!!? With what our nation has achieved in out 144 years of history we should just stand up and say to all the world I am CANADIAN and FIERCELY PROUD of it!!!

@71lanlee just need to put in the lily into the song. Eh? apparently the writer changed it but sadly we do not have a recording.

It's a great song, but it's missing the 2nd verse of the original song.

Interesting.... the French were a conquered people. Their language & their customs live on through their culture; but, that doesn't give them the right to dictate the terms of our patriotism and the countries to which we show it.
I am French on my mother's side and Irish/Scottish on my father's. The Maple Leaf Forever is a far greater acknowledgement to Canada's history than the 'politically correct" Oh Canada whose lyrics keep changing!
THE MAPLE LEAF FOREVER!

you must never sever your links to Britain and the Queen.
A milestone in Western Canadian history happened recently. Western farmers can now sell their wheat, barley, and durum to whoever they wish!

people would you all shut up the maple leaf is not a symbol of eastern Canada it is a symbol of all of Canada and the maple leaf forever would not be a good anthem because Wolfe was the general of Britain's army who defeated the French an since we are by-lingual it would not represent all of Canada idiots

@poisidon99 You are DEFINITELY not from Western Canada. We in Western Canada have a totally different view.
