This song was written by Red West and recorded in Graceland in 1966.
In 1966, Elvis was living on Rocca Place, Hollywood, when filming. He knew taht his career was in a trough, and we find him exploring several new directions. The emphasis on vocal harmony would soon find commercial expression in one of his finest album - How Great Thou Art. The 1966 tapes were recorded by Red West and discovered in Graceland some thirty years later. Red had bought two stereo tape decks for his Los Angeles apartmest with the idea of producing professional songwriting demo's. He recruited Charlie Hodge, who often stayed with him, and yet-to-be-famous Glen Campbell to work on his songs. He'd already placed one song with Pat Boone and two with Elvis. Embryonic versions of three others that he pitched to Elvis, "I've Been Blue", "It's Not Fun Being Lonely" and "Mary Lou Brown", are included on great 1999 CD "Home Recordings"
