Heulwen and I took our granddaughters Kate and Lucy to the Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival held in St. George's Square on 12 August 2010. They can be seen here enjoying this performance by the Zulu dance troupe from South Africa. The building in the background, in ornate Italianate style, with a statue of Britannia atop, was the headquarters of the former Huddersfield Building Society, and to the left are the Lion Buidings, dated 1853, by J.P.Pritchett featuring a sculpture of an imperial lion made from Coade stone, a material much used for decorative sculptures on buildings dating from the late C18th and early C19th centuries about which you can read here:
