Unfortunately we were so busy trying to getting all the decorations, carnival games, prizes, food, costumes and sideshow attractions completed in time that we forgot to get any photos or video of the actual event.

Oops! Here are a few "before" photos I took of the giant carnival posters that my crew and I made and of the sideshow attractions. The pictures with the tall man, Jeff H., in them are from the day of the event itself. You can kind of see in the background some of the striped paper carnival tents created for the food and game booths. We had traditional carnival foods, such as hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy (I wish I could show you all the cotton candy that was stuck in Heather T.'s big mullet wig when we were done). Circus music was playing in the background. Barkers were calling people over to play games, like the "ring toss over bottles" game, the "baseball toss into a bushel basket" game, the "pop the balloon with a dart" game and even a "rat gambling" game where a bet is placed on which hole a rat is going to go down into. Patti N. supplied the prizes, some of which were giant stuffed animals. There was a mysterious booth where, for the price of a ticket, one could wonder inside a secret tent and see the "most beautiful woman in the world." In true carnival fashion what they viewer actually saw was James W. dressed up like a woman with "I Dream of Jeanie bottle" decor and romantic music playing. Bev R. was a Gypsy fortune teller with her own gypsy tent. Inside the main sideshow tent was a bearded lady, a spider boy (body of a spider and head of a boy) and a headless woman. I think these turned out pretty good (you can judge for yourself by looking at the pictures). I wish the spider body would have been a little better but this was a run-down carnival act after all, so it being cheesy-looking actually worked with our theme.

Like 2003's "Tab Manor for the Criminally Insane," this production won the coveted BASES Overall Best in Show award. That's two years in a row! Laura M. was also awarded most unique costume for her portrayal of the headless woman.
