If you get to the polling station before 10pm you should be able to vote. Period.
No one knows how busy a polling station will be till they get there and there is no warning on the card saying "turn up with plenty of time to spare"
When i went to vote at my local station around 8:40 there was no one there but the staff. It took me about 60 secs to get in, place my vote and leave. If i had turned up at one of the stations in manchester i might have been turned away!

Finished work at 9,
Got to my polling station at 9:58pm just as they were closing the doors literally (good thing the bus came when it did). They actually started counting down the seconds which was distracting me as I barely had time and concentration to find the candidates. I was the second to last person to put my voting slips in the boxes. What an experience for my 1st time vote, never again will I cut it so close to the wire. As for the poor people in this video...
...An injustice.

When so many are voting by post, it makes you wonder why there was a problem higher turn out or not. Are all these postal votes genuine?
-
@2frey84 they don't let people vote after 10 for a reason. The same reason there has to be regulations surrounding voting. Before you start making vague complaints about the political situation in the uk think about the fundamental and obvious facts, dickhead.
-
You had 12 hours to get there and vote. If it meant so much to you then you would have MADE time during the day. What did you EXPECT to happen when you turned up last minute!?
-
@jonathannewbrook oops, I think those outside were turned away, my bad. :(
-
I wish my polling station was this busy! I was sooo bored waiting for people to come in.
Why would you leave if someone told you to? You have a right to vote as long as you're in the room between 7am and 10pm.

don't turn up just before closing then dickhead. If you really cared you would have been down at the polling station the moment it opened, they are close to your house for a reason.
-
and we the UK have the stuck up cheek to tell other countiries like kenya and ghana how they should have their elections, pfft, when in the UK elections run out of ballot papers and dont let people vote after 10pm , oh what pathetic snobs we are
-
should have come earlier.

It's a disgrace for the UK.

le système d'élection britannique n'est déjà pas totalement démocratique (avec le bipartisme entre Labour et Tories) mais avec ça en plus ! Ne manque que les machines électroniques pour que toute l'Angleterre cesse d'être une démocratie.
If you turn up before 10 you should be allowed to vote!
I queued for an hour there. People who went there at half 9 weren't expecting such a huge queue.
Four voting booths is just not enough for Fallowfield, with so many people living there.
