A KONE talking elevator at the new Ohio Union South Parking Garage at The Ohio State University, Columbus. I think the voice is annoying but still fun. And this elevator is pretty fast, as a bonus.

  • Maybe someone needs to get onto the goverment and ask, I find this helpful in the Uk, I know audio units are expensive but to be honest it could help a lot of people in America if this was made a requirement.

  • @jdtayloruk I think that they should. I have a visual impairment.

  • I love how it talks about the doors when they open and close. I wish more talking elevators did this.

  • I wonder what it would say if someone hit the emergency stop button (or doesn't it have one?) would it repeatedly say "you have pushed the emergency stop button" :)

  • My school elevator sounds just like that! except we don't have five floors at the school and it does not say door opening and closing, and at my school, it says first floor not ground.

  • lol theres one here in San Antonio, Tx that talks just like that except it doesnt say the door is opening or closing.

  • That'd probably be better that what we have now.

  • Never heard that voice say "doors opening" and "doors closing".

  • It is a legal requirement in the Uk, but I am not sure whether it is or is actually going to become policy in the US, forcing such lifts to have such audiio systems I don't know.
