I went to see Red Tails on opening night, January 20, 2012. The crowd was very attentive and captivated by this movie. It made me very appreciative of the service of anyone who has served the US Military but especially the Tuskegee Airmen. I wanted to wait and see it with my Dad who is retired from the Air Force and loves to fly but hey, he IS retired and probably saw it earlier today during the matinee! I just hope he doesn't want to start flying formations in the Civil Air Patrol planes! Oh brother! I digress.
Much love to George Lucas, Star Wars creator, for going to bat to get this movie on the silver screen when Hollywood said NO.
The cast included:
Terrence Howard, Nate Parker, Tristan Wilds, Elijah Kelley, Leslie Odom Jr., Kevin Phillips, Method Man, Lee Tergesen, Daniela Rush, Matthew Marsh, Barnaby Kay, Josh Dallas, Michael Lindley, Okezie Morro, Ami Ameen.
Red Tails director Anthony Hemingway
Producers George Lucas and Rick McCallum

There were some new faces to me who really shined. I don't know if this movie was released in time for consideration for an Oscar® but in opinion, it is worthy!
Aside from Terrence Howard and Cuba Gooding Jr, Ne-Yo was one of the few actors that I recognized from other roles. I was missing an actor in this movie who I feel would have added a little something extra: Jamie Foxx! Now I don't know how well he and Terrence Howard would have gotten along but Jamie Foxx could have shown his acting chops too.
Please show your support for this movie by seeing it in theaters this weekend. I may go see it again! Excellent. Can't wait for the DVD and the sequel!
Check out this episode of War Stories with Oliver North on Fox about The Tuskegee Airmen.

Attending a 99% black school, I have black history down to a tee. I wasn't going to see this movie. This weekend I went to see Underworld part ?. Plus, I was boycotting this movie for selfish reasons ( most of the men who star in the movie are married to white women) Stupid, I know! I heard it from FB. But after your review, I guess I'll mosey on over to the theater! ☺ Nothing wrong with a little eye candy and update to my history lesson.

@StormyHair Stormy! You were boycotting Red Tails because of what?! R U serious? I'm coming to get you - in 2012! If one were to about it in those terms, yes, Cuba, Terrence & Nate aka Easy have married non-Black women. However, I believe in letting people love who they want to love. What if someone of a different race said they were boycotting Red Tails because the producer, George Lucas is dating a Black woman? He also spent 23 years and millions of his own money to get it done.

@thecreativelady LOL! I know, it's an ongoing debate in my house. No worries though, I just wanted to state it because it's going around FB. Colorful marriages are all up and thru my family. I was just teasing. A fine man is a fine man and yes we are free to love whoever we fall for.
