Cú Chulainn's Stone

On a bit of a road trip on my own, passed the town of Knockbridge in Co. Louth to see "Cú Chulainn's Stone" supposidly the actual stone the legendary hero strapped himself to while dying.

rumor is Michael Fassbender wants to make a movie about Cú Chulainn! would make a great movie imo.

@MrGavin2011 that would be so awesome. I always wanted to see Cu Chulainn turned into a big epic movie... though I do worry Hollywood would make it seem shit (like CLash of the Titans) ... but if Fassbender was invovled it just might have a chance to be a movie the Legend deserves

A bit creepy, being right there where some legendary hero died. I'm pretty sure just about every story in the Bible, particularly the Old Testament, is legend. Even after it was put down on vellum it was subject to re-interpretation and translation, causing further distortions of the original reality.

@rallypacific I didn't find it creepy at all oddly, I found it very exciting, haha, and maybe even a bit humbled ... probably similar to how a christian visting Isreal might feel when visiting Jesus' supposed tomb, haha

The stone itself has a great presence when your actual there in front of it and knowing the legend behind it you can't help but respect it I guess. Especially as I said with CúChulainn being my fav legend... surprised the area isn't a national hertiage site
