  • hey just woundering if you have started riding again? i had my surgery on the 12th december 2011 and am dieing inside watching other people come and ride my horse :( if you have started again what was it like riding? i did dressage so i know how you feel with the trying to hide the un even shoulders etc. your very luck at how strait your spine is now after my surgery mine is a bit less than what yours originally was :( thats how bad mine was. well i wish you all the best. thanks

  • @TheShelbzy yes i have started riding! and it is so much more fun because i don't have terrible back pain :) i had scoliosis even before i started riding three years ago so i never knew how it felt to ride without worrying about my shoulders being uneven and all that :/ and i know how you feel about wanting to ride it was awful :( but once you start riding again everything will be worth it! thank you <3

  • Wow such an incredible video, you are so so so brave to share your story with all of us! That was such a journey and you should be so proud, this video is beyond inspirational! I am so glad for you that you have such a good support system around you. just wondering how were you diganosed and how did they carry out the surgery without damaging your spinal cord? I wish you all the best with your recovery and can't wait to see you back riding. Loved and favourited!

  • @sonja1993xx Thank you! I started having some back pain and I went to my regular doctor. She asked me to bend over and she could tell that my spine was curved so she recommended us to a Scoliosis specialist and there they took x-rays and realized I had severe scoliosis! Haha well I'm not exactly sure what went on during the surgery (i dont really want to know all the details lol) but I know there were about 20 people in the operation room and there was a lady monitoring my spinal chord (:

  • your so so so strong, and beautiful! i'm amazed at how your coping, not being able to ride for 6 months! I bet your first time back riding will be amazing, i hope it goes well! :') xx

  • @XxForeverWillxX Thank you so very much <3 :')

  • hey :) i had the scoliosis op and have my horse now :) it makes me so happy to see stories like yours! glad this doesn't stop people riding and doing what they love :) youre an inspiration xxx

  • I was diagnosed with scoliosis in February last year. I was riding one day and I hit my tailbone on the saddle accidentally which aggrevated the pain. I woke up two weeks later screaming because when I rolled over it felt like needles going up my spine. At the ER they said I have scoliosis but they didn't do anything because it's such a tiny curve - 9 degrees, but it hurts like a bitch sometimes. The only thing we changed was my matress - now it's a therapeutic one. This vid is so inspiring :)

  • hi! amazing video and you did a great job!

i am from the netherlands and i had my surgery 9 months ago.

yesterday i got back on my horse, ride only in trot.

it did not hurt and it felt good! but i felt my legmuscles are truly gone haha.

    good luck with your recovery!

  • this is very inspirational. i am going to have the surgery sometime soon. do you have any pain now that its been a long time since your surgery??? what can you not do still?? thanks!!! :)

  • Hi! Your horse is GORGEOUS! I have severe scoliosis and I horse ride and the one question on my mind was how long I wouldn't be able to ride for after surgery! So, could you not ride for 6 months then? o_0 I don't know how I'd be able to cope not riding for 6 months!!!! :-/

  • I had a 107 degree curve. After surgery, it went down to 35 degrees. I had 2 rods and 14 screws put in my spine. Please check out my scoliosis channel! =D

  • tomorrow :) im so happy for you that would literally kill me to not be able to ride.

  • This is really inspiring. I had the surgery and I am also a horse back rider. I can`t stand going up the barn and not being able to get on and ride.

Good Luck and great job :)
