@aquamanwisdom I will, but we're talking at least 2 years from now. I just get excited thinking about it. Thanks for the information!

will this makes the water potable? and could I use this for a hand pump well? What would you recommend would be the best (lo cost/efficient/reliable) way to have a hand pump well with water you can drink?

@tireironman I want to help you, but I'm not following exactly what you are describing. Can you give me more details?

@aquamanwisdom yeah, my brother and I are planning on buying some land out in the sticks and digging our own shallow well, anyway I've been researching and found other people that dug their own wells with a hand pump but the water that comes out is unfiltered. I was wondering if you could put filters on a hand powered well pump so that the water that comes out can be safe to drink right away.

@tireironman Sure, a basic 5 micron sediment filter will do alot to improve the water quality. Being it's an untreated water source, I would recommend you have it tested for bacteria before drinking it, but once you are sure it's potable (safe to drink) a sediment filter will definitely help. If it has any funky tastes or odors a carbon filter after the sediment filter will help those issues. Good luck, and let me know how it goes :~)
