@EdwardBayly Tired Tim was one of the characters in the Comic weekly Comic Cuts I still Have a Silver pencil that was given in a weekly copy of Comic Cuts In the early 1930s. Unfortunately it is now very dull being Real Silver and I don't polish it! actual I misspelt the first character it was Weary Willy.

Eddy2730 It was kind of you to write again and explain. Your comment was not rude or I would not have responded. You were simply expressing an opinion genuinely felt at the time & which you have every right to do – & indeed should continue to do. I disagreed & and said that many do appreciate my medleys of songs & WWII images, perhaps not because that they are fantastic, but because of what the songs mean to them in relation to their families in times gone by. Thank you. Kind regards. Edward

@EdwardBayly I now realise that the previous comment I left was rude. I apologise for this. Being Autistic, I wasn't really trying to be rude at all. Above all, I'm really a fan of this type of music. Will you forgive me?

Eddy2730 - Perhaps you don't care - your choice - your grandparents however indubitably would have cared profoundly about these songs. You see, these familiar songs of 1939 and 1940 that you don't care about - whether comedy or poignant - helped we British cope and gave us hope throughout the times when our cities were being blitzed and our families killed. Oh - I forgot to mention . . and victory which now gives you the freedom to say and write what you like. Kindest, warmest regards Edward

Hello @TheRAFfc Yes! please do go on for ever! Your memories of that tume are so important and are bringing a whole new dimension to these WWII video postings and other viewers are commenting on your memories and asking Who was Tired Tim and what exactly a Doodle-Bug was etc..? I have included the dreaded Doodle-Bug - and the comedy song poking fun at it - in one of my videos. Thank you for taking the time to write and do enjoy the films. Kind regards Edward

I was born May '39, funny, I do remember too many of the songs, the fright of the times, food stamps, blackouts, ect, while my father was in the Navy.

Hi @grandma05446, Great to hear from you. Thank you. It would also be great if you were to write down those memories you have spoken of so vividly - even tho' you were such a very small child - so that the younger generation might glean a greater insight of those dark days of war which this music and these artistes' helped our parents and grandparents to see them through. You would be most welcome to use this page. Kind regards Edward
