OK - those in the know will know that one of the best DS flashcard to get is the DSTwo, however over @ one of my favorite forums (GBATemp.net) they made an arrangement with the Supercard team & they've produced a 'Limited Edition DSTwo' card (or as we affectionally call it 'LEDS2') where there's apparently only going to be 200 of these made

Well I ordered one of these and it arrived today...
... so here's me unpacking it (BTW I also ordered a couple of other items at the same time - an R4Gold and a USB Charging cable)

  • @anythinggoesjoe The DSTwo cannot update itself through the DS WiFi unfortunately - you will need to download from the website any updates although virtually every game I've tried has worked without problems

Only the DSi and the 3DS receive software updates from Nintendo - which SOMETIMES block flashcards - the DSLite never has firmware updates so the card will work regardless.

As for bans - can't tell, I don't do much online gaming but AFAIK there's been none

  • @CannonFoddr then its settled ill go 8GB. Question , can the dstwo card update with wifi threw the DS or do i have to download from the dstwo website ? Also Talking about GBATemp website , I hear its safe to go online with the DStwo card because nintendo has yet to ban anyone ? Is this true

  • @anythinggoesjoe It'll take a 8gb card with no problems - that's what I have in mine ATM

In theory the DSTwo can take SDHC microSD cards up to 32Gb

As for battery life... AFAIK, the difference is so small it doesn't really matter.

I did a set of tests (posted results over at GBATemp.net) & one set of tests was battery life using a 2Gb and a 8GB MicroSD card... the difference in battery life time was ~ 1-2mins

  • @CannonFoddr its cool i didn't real care for a usb charger anyways but I bought my new DS Lite yesterday ,come to think of it i haven't charged it yet, maybe your right , Also is there a limit on the size the micro SD card can be im about to get a 8 GB one should i go bigger or will it Drain the battery faster if the SD card is to big ?

  • @anythinggoesjoe - If your cable is the wrong one, best you contact who you brought it off of & ask if you can change it or get a refund

If your DS is fully charged the light should NOT go red when using a Flashcard...Are you sure the DS is fully charged ??

Does the same thing happen with a normal game - if so perhaps your DS battery is No good. How old is your DSLite ??

  • @CannonFoddr i got my today but its the wrong charging cable , dont fit on my DS lite , Also each time i use the Flash Card my DS Lite goes red even when i have a full battery is that normal ?

  • @anythinggoesjoe I was going on Holiday & instead of taking 2 DS chargers with me (one for DSi and one for DSLite) - I decided on taking a single 'Mains to USB' charger & 2 USB charging cables for each DS - to reduce the weight/clutter.

I already had a DSLite USB cable but not a DSi one - & that's the cable you see in the video.

  • What the hell in the Usb charging cable for ?

  • @FibrousAcquiescence the only difference between this & a normal DSTwo is the cartridge case is white & it has a different sticker on the front (The box also had extra 'bit' included like card reader, stylus etc)

Internally it's exactly the same card

  • So what's the difference?
