NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell claiming to have saved bushland in Western Sydney that was actually saved years earlier due to a campaign by locals volunteering their time and effort to conserve Western Sydneys natural heritage. Green wash is what you call this.
Ridiculous. This was saved by local residents up against the ineptitude and political games of State Government. If the developer wasn't such a small player (read: someone who pays huge political donations and influence) then it would have turned out differently. Across the road at the ADI site, where land is owned by Lend Lease (who payed a paltry sum for each hectare) they got the go-ahead to develop Federally and State listed Critically Endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland.
