Okay, FYI, they're called Precursor Orbs, but you can just call them orbs. You're right actually, but the only thing you buy are Power Cells for 90 orbs (or 120 in the case of the Oracles).

When I was first playing this game as a little kid, I could never get past that fisherman part. I'd always screw up and catch the poisonous fish. xD
