  • Greenmetal1 is correct, it has an FE series big block. A 352 4bbl with factory duals and factory glasspacks, to be exact. It was only rated somewhere around 250 HP, but with all the bottom-end grunt it feels like a lot more!

  • it was truck only 360 same everything is same heads as a 390 and bore crank rods add to 360 pistons u get a higher c r 360 r flat top 390 r dished or bold flat tops would be around 12 to 1

  • 406 is not a FE engine u could have got 427 it crazy fast or 428 then cobra jet put that in with a 4 speed posi rear 411's factory

  • 390 was about 330 to 350 horse difference between 2 b 4 b carb and all was under rated

  • The Fords always sounded so good with the mufflers at the rear bumper....

  • @B1Springfield

406 was only avalible for two years before being replaced by the 427. You could have gotten a 406 in 1962 and 1963.

  • Yeah it is hard to believe that when they added a little length to those rods and made it a 390 it brought it up 300 or so Hp. Great engines...

  • 64s didnt come with 406s. the 406 was the predecessor to the 427, which is what would come in those rare high performance Galaxies. I have a 65 Galaxie of my own, LTD. it also has the 352 big block. nice car.

  • @dant387 They dodn't have the 429 back then - that was a 385 series big block. Back when this Galaxy was made Ford still had their FE series big block (352, 390, 406, 427, 428). This car should have had a 390 or a 427 (or possibly a 406, but I think probably not).

  • 0:14 that's a 4 door COOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Too fastttttttttttttttt

  • it is a 64.

  • that looks more like a 1964

  • i have a vid on my 66 2door hardtop galaxi and i wanna sell it, please check it out and tell me how much i can get out of it

  • ya it was like the most powerful ford ever made in detroit back then i think idk if it was 429 tho

  • All i hear is noisy BRATS !

  • whats the size and length of your glass packs

  • awesome car we have a 66 galaxie and a 64 galaxie

  • I have a 68. Factory 390 but previous owner blew it up. Looking to drop a 429 in it now and going with the glass packs all the way. I'll throw a vid up when i get her back on the road.
