The Winnipeg Goldeyes are part of the independent, wood bat Northern League. The Goldeyes play their home games at CanWest Global Park in Winnipeg. CanWest is a facility some organized minor league teams would be envious of. The Goldeyes were one of the charter teams in the league when it was reborn in 1994. Their first few seasons were played at the cavernous Winnipeg Stadium (now renamed CanadInn Stadium), which is home to the CFL's Winnipeg Jets.
