JAL goes bankrupt

Japan Airlines filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday in one of Japan's largest corporate failures. The Airline will now enter a restructuring programme, from which it seeks to emerge leaner, smarter and freer of crippling debt.

Japan Airlines will still operate, even though it's in bankruptcy. Delta, United Airlines, US Airways, and Frontier Airlines went bankrupt and they continued to operate, and JAL will too.
