BY BAPTISM: you are saved from your sins (Mark 16:16; 1 Pet. 3:21). You have remission of sins (Acts 2:38). Sins are washed away by the blood of Christ (Acts 22:16; Heb. 9:22; Heb. 10:22; 1 Pet. 3:21). You enter into the church (1 Cor. 12:13; Acts 2:1-47). You enter into Christ (Gal. 3:26-27; Rom. 6:3-4). You put on Christ and become a child of God (Gal. 3:26-27). You are born again, a new creature (Rom. 6:3-4; 2 Cor. 5:17) You walk in newness of life (Rom. 6:3-6).

Baptism is necessary for salvation. (BY BAPTISM: You are being obedient to Christ (Mark 16:15-16; Acts 10:48; 2 Thess. 1:7-9). Do your important souls a great favor and read what I have posted about baptism in the Bible for yourself, without getting caught up in the footnotes added by men. May our Maker bless you all as you challenge yourselves to study this. Praise King Jesus Christ!

I hate to tell you, you implied that one receivies the Holy Spirit after you have been baptized, I beg to differ. God does work in mysterious ways, doesn't He? I have been imbued with The Holy Spirit for over twenty years. My desires of lust turned to love, my bitterness turned to forgiveness etc , and I could go on. Never once did it convict me to be baptized. Do you observe Christmas/Easter?...are you saying God has not saved me because I was not immersed? Salvation is a spiritual process

@RageAgainstNWO We need to be baptized by a man because that's the way Jesus set it up (Mt 28:17-20 and many others). Do you have examples of people baptizing themselves into the New Covenant?
Also, John 20:22 has nothing to do with baptism. It records the instance in the upper room when Jesus commissioned the disciples and sent them forth with His authority (to forgive sins in the Lord's name). May God bless you and your walk with Him.

I belive we need to be baptized in water(John 3:5), but not by any man, because what if the man who baptizes you is really a pedophile, do you still receive the holy spirit?.....pray to Jesus, and baptize yourself. John baptized with water, but Jesus baptized with the holy spirit (John 20:22). True Christianity is about a direct relationship with Jesus, who has Gods ear, not a relationship with a man, to Jesus, to God. What can man do that the Son of Man can't? Acts 10:44-48 proves this.
