Knights of Amiriya - Iraq

The alliance between the US army and Sunni former insurgents is being credited with forcing Al Qaeda out of Baghdad. Murders in the capital have decreased by 80% and calm is being restored.
"It all kicked off when we gathered the men of the area and decided to stand up to Al Qaeda", recalls Abu Tariq. "That was the start of the awakening". Tariq is the media agent and official cameraman for the Knights of Amiriyah, (also known as the Amiriyah Freedom Fighters), the jihadi insurgents who turned against Al Qaeda to help the Americans. While still ambivalent towards US forces, thousands of Amiriyah's erstwhile freedom fighters have signed up. They receive 0 every month from the Americans in exchange for cleaning out Al Qaeda. "The Amiriyah Freedom Fighters have done a great job", raves Capt Brian Wayman. "In the month that I've worked with them, they've caught and killed more Al Qaeda members than we've been able to do for quite some time". In recent months, the Knights have spread beyond the boundaries of Amiriyah into other neighbourhoods, where Al Qaeda are now on the run. As Abu Tariq states; "Things are 90% better now. You can see for yourself".

I was there in 05-06 and it was really bad.. We lost a few soldiers but we killed hundreds if not thousands of insurgents.. I am here to post a positive comment about forgiveness! I can actually say I'm happy there is a turn around out there right now! Keep up the good work knights! 👍

@unkowndrunkenfrankli Have a google image search for "lebanon stg 44" and about the 6th pic in you see one like I described and many more! The first is indeed the Leb. This supposedly 'weak' weapon looks like it stood the test of time alright!

@unkowndrunkenfrankli I once saw a photo of a bunch of arab guys shooting and pointing their AKs into the air....nothing out of the ordinary UNTIL I noticed one was holding a STURMGEWEHR 44 or Stg 44 which was germanys first assault rifle (just in case ur unsure). I was seriously stunned as how the hell did he have the rare out dated ammo for it and also if he sold it to a museum (superb condition) he'd probably be able to buy enough AK-47s for a small army.

@gryzer26 idk i just find it funny that they are using a gun from ww2 and i never said it was shit , i actually love this gun its like my Favorite gun of all time
