INTERNATIONAL ONE METRE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2011 - A Fleet - Race 23

The final video of six of the 2011 International One Metre model yacht world championship that was organised and run by the UK Model Yacht Association in conjunction with the West Kirby Sailing Club on the marine lake.

Stollery and Gibson continued their match from race 22 with Elliot (109) in the mix as well. On the first downwind leg the Britpop design showed her planing ability but were they any faster than the other leading boats? Gibson had the better of the wind shifts up the final beat to finish second behind Elliot while Stollery faded to fifth place. Stollery won race 24 and with it the championship from Gibson and Elliot. From my viewpoint I think they would have finished 1 2 3 even sailing their older yachts?
