Ok, so when Crutchy is talking to Jack, Jack is buttoning his pants, which he doesn't succeed at after that much time. This is the best movie ever, whoever doesn't like it is a Delancey I love the kid who slid across the floor pulling his pants on.

@x0hitsme0x There wasn't a storyline that was cut; it was just intended to set the tone of their lives, in a way. Many boys had run away from home, regardless of their family situation. Some had perfectly fine families, but ran away for various reasons. As for the cart, that's the only food we see them eat all day: a roll and a tiny cup of coffee early in the morning. They had nothing, and, really, it wasn't such a "fine life" as they say, they just didn't know anything else.
