The Reverse Lunge with Kettlebell Swing exercise is a great selection for those looking for enhanced strength and stability of the hip flexors, gluteals, and quadriceps as well as ROM improvements in associated hip and trunk musculature. The exercise allows for core function improvements and augmented force coupling due to the use of multiple body segments and an asymmetrical loading pattern. Finally, due to its complexity, the exercise can function to improve overall kinesthetic awareness, coordination, and balance. With an increased emphasis on ballistic acceleration during the concentric (forward swing) phase, hip power can also be improved.
