The Killing Blade matches part 2

Kaillera netplay matches between Merlin (player 1) and Plexo (player 2). The Killing Blade by IGS is a 2D arcade fighting game from 1997/8. The game runs on the PolyGame Master arcade hardware by IGS. No home console version was ever released. The Killing Blade is an excellent game and a bit similar to the Samurai Shodown series by SNK.

How did you get this running? It doesn't work on MAME...

@Bananas1000 Do you have the PGM bios? It won't work without that. Also on slightly older versions of Mame only the version called 'chinese board' works although you still need both roms. On newer versions of Mame both versions work.

Seems a bit basic for the late 90's, would have thought they'd be pushing the 3D fighters more by this point.

It's definitely not to everyone's taste this game but I absolutely love playing it. To be honest I've never been too keen on 3D fighters so I'm glad they were making quality 2D fighting games like these in the late '90s.

@merlin196 I had the old mameplusplus 0.117. I didn't know how to implement kaillera on the .EXE versions of MAME

In 1997 / 1998 3-d tech was still very expensive to develop. There were very few big companies developing 3-d tech at the time( namco and sega)
