All segments of the LCD screen will show for approximately 2 seconds when you first turn the tuner on. This is so you can confirm that the display is working properly. It does not mean that you are tuning to the key of B#. You should see B#, all 6 arrows, and all 3 modes at the same time. Then everything will disappear except the mode that you are in. If 440 is showing, then yes, you are tuning at A=440hz.
A kick in the nuts is less painful than using this tunners.

I v'e had mine for a few months an I missed the 12th fret harmonics in the instruction. Great Tip tuner performs much better there!

How come when you turn it on it always states that it is in a
B# ? So I'm wondering are we really in e tuning at 440 frq?
