When I learned more about the history of this old EMD, I found it to be interesting. Eventually I compiled all the information together, and decided to write about it here, and include some audio that I've recorded over time. Most of the content is my own, the rest was used with permission from youtube user 4449steam.
In 1967, The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific railroad recieved a fleet of GP40's from EMD, and one of them was numbered 374. 374 and all the others served the railroad up until it's demise in the late 1970's. Some of the GP40's were retired, some found new owners. But some of them were rebuilt, including 374 which happened in 1981 at Silvis, IL. It was numbered 3005 and sold as GO Transit 720. Later it was sold again as GM 202, and became LLPX 3205. Afterward it was leased as SLR 3205 in 2002, and returned as LLPX 3205 in 2004. Today it serves PNWR as 3005.
Basically, that's all the background I could dig up on this old EMD. I think the original CRI and P livery worn by this unit was a dark maroon body, with white lettering and a yellow nose, like the unit in this photo:

Awesome history! I bet there are a lot of other locomotives on that roster that have interesting histories as well.
