After coal had been taken it was time for the final deafening climb up from the harbour.

Farewell once again Folkestone Harbour branch. Same time next year?

From the junction the train was diesel hauled to Ashford where 70013 took over for the run to Canterbury West. We catch up with the train just to the west of Chartham station firstly at a farm crossing and then at the bridge over the Great Stour.

Following the servicing stop at Canterbury the train is seen three more times, firstly near Sarre, then at a foot crossing near Hillborough and finally at the level crossing at Graveney.

  • Many thanks once again Martyn for another fantastic piece of footage. I say this every time I comment, and I'll say it again now - your videos keep getting better and better. The shots themselves are great, as well as the editing. The best thing though is the camera control. Take note everyone - there is NO camera/tripod wobble like in so many others, and I think this makes your videos a pleasure to watch. It is a shame I can only give this 5*!

  • Wonderful video, shame it can't carry on, Folkestone loses another crowd puller....

    5 *****

  • Great video, some lovely shots!!

    At least 5*!!

  • Top quality work, wonderful. Why was I watching diesel shunters on the SDR? Grrrrrrrrrrr

  • Excellent video well put together 5* EMuksteam

  • Well done for putting together the definitive record of the day. Everyone else might as well delete their version from YouTube. Pity you missed the climb of Sole Street bank at 35 mph as it was good on the train but deserved a record from the line side.

  • Well done Martyn & Alan, another excellent video covering this magnificent loco at it's best..5* Bob

  • Well thought out and executed compilation 5* - Thank you for sharing - Mike

  • That video was pure magic! Thanks for sharing. Just a shame I could only give it 5 *. It was worth a lot more.
