ERSEL Hickey did pen a number of songs like the Top Ten hit “Don’t Let the Rain Come Down,” co-written with Eddie Miller,That same year Ersel Hickey bumped into Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers, who advised him to write his own songs. “Bluebirds Over the Mountain” was written that night.

I always wondered when i got the Beach Boy 45 with this song and showed an "Ersel Hickey" as the songwriter, if he really existed.. name sounded made-up..wow...'
