So, in that essence, you're saying that if someone gets cancer from smoking, they shouldn't have the option of treatment or a potential cure? They should live and die without any hope of getting better because it's not the government's responsibility? That's a pretty harsh belief system you have there.

Condom use has increased since the times depicted in this documentary. That's a result of education, not an improvement in our collective morality. Sheesh.

"The increase in sex is just a manifestation of a larger and more unfortunate problem."

Why talk about this in the abstract? Are you married? If not, do you have sex? If you are married, have you had sex with someone other than your wife?

When you call HIV/AIDS "a symptom of a decadent and debaucherous society" and a result of "hedonism and absentmindedness", you come off as an unsympathetic cretin. Attitudes like yours (shared by many Bible-thumpers) make the problem worse by increasing stigma. In Africa, for example, many people won't admit they have HIV/AIDS because of social stigma. You're actually contributing to the problem by framing the disease as a moral failure.

The increase in sex is just a manifestation of a larger and more unfortunate problem. I'm rebuking the hedonism and absentmindedness that has infected a large part of the general population, including the gay community, where people forget about the consequences of their actions in the pursuit of "fun." And no, this does not apply to everyone. I know I'm 2 months late in responding but when you mischaracterize the things I say, I'm reluctant to reply. Also, ad hominems earn you no respect.

Ignoring your aggressive ignorance on human sexuality, so what if a person's choices cause them to contract AIDS? What percentage of people in the US die every year from the result of their own choices? Poor diet, drinking, smoking, stressful occupations, bad driving, lack of exercise, fun but ultimately high-risk activities, etc. Heart disease, many types of cancer, strokes, etc. are often caused by a person's actions, doesn't mean the government doesn't spend money researching solutions.
