Mafia 2 Gameplay Description
The game will be set from 1945 to 1955 in Empire Bay (the name is a reference to New York's state nickname "The Empire State".), a fictional city based on San Francisco and New York City, with influences from Chicago and Detroit. The game will feature a completely open-ended game map of 10 square miles. No restrictions are included from the start of the game.[1] There will also be around 50 vehicles in the game, as well as licensed music from the era.
Many firearms from the previous game will make a return, for example the Thompson M1928, the Colt 1911 and a pump action shotgun. As seen in screenshots, new WWII-era weapons like the MP40, the M3 Grease Gun, and the MP28 will make an appearance in the game as well as the MG42.
Interacting with objects in the environment involves two action buttons- a standard action and a "violent" action, used in context-sensitive situations. A map will be included as in the original Mafia game. The checkpoint system has been completely overhauled. New controls include a cover system that allows the player to hide behind objects (such as generators, walls and large crates) to shoot enemies, rather than just using a crouch while behind an object. Flanking may be a large part of the combat.
It has been stated by 2K Czech that the game's cutscenes are created by the game engine, in real time, rather than pre-rendered cutscenes.
Godfather 2 Gameplay Description
Many gameplay elements from the original game returns in the sequel, some expanded and improved. Like the first game, The Godfather II is a third-person shooter taking place in an open world, and both story-based and side missions involve gunplay, hand-to-hand fighting, and driving. However, the sequel features "Black Hand 2.0" control scheme where the player can grab, knee, kick, and head-butt enemies. In a gun fight, the player can use target-lock or freely aim at specific parts of an enemy, and a disarmed or injured enemy can be approached and executed with a unique killing blow that depends on the weapon and the enemy's condition. Each of the weapons in the game, including handguns, shotguns, and sub-machine guns, have its own level and statistics, and the player is able to purchase licenses to use higher level weapons with more skill.
Much emphasis was placed on the squad mechanic, where the player can directly command a group of soldiers to strategically coordinate the attack. In addition, each soldier is able to use a special skill such as hand-to-hand combat or demolition expertise. By using these skills, multiple approaches will be possible when assaulting a business location or a rival family's compound.
In addition to the third-person action gameplay, the game features a strategy aspect that manages the Corleone criminal empire. In the "Don's View," a strategic overview of the game world, the player can order members of the family to expand or protect his territory. Taking over businesses is the main source of cash and reputation, in addition to the perks from controlling the specific type of business. The player's soldiers can be either ordered to take over the target or directly led by the player himself. This strategic gameplay is said to take up about 20% of the whole game.
Rival families will actively attack and sabotage the player's establishments in order to dominate the three cities. To weaken the rival family, businesses under the control of enemies can be attacked and taken over. Also, enemy mafiosos can be shot down during gun battles, but key members will only be critically wounded and return after a period of recovery. In order to remove them for good, the player must gather information and assassinate the target in a particular context relating to the plot of the game.
The Godfather II features a third-person shooter multiplayer mode that supports up to 16 players online. There are currently 6 maps and 4 gameplay modes announced. Multiplayer matches can be also yield in-game cash and weapon licenses that can be carried over to the single player mode.

  • godfather 2 is a horrible, disgustingly voilent game where mafia 2 has great graphics, a compelling story and magical gameplay therefore godfafther 2 wins

  • The problem with mafia 2 is it's not really an open world game. It just has an open world setting. It's a linear story. The godfather 2 is an open world game and is much better imo. Who cares about graphics.

  • The Godfather or The Godfather 2 ?? (Videogame) Please respond :)

  • but there is ONE big complaint i have that doesnt make the godfather my favorite game, and thats the fact that you cannot jump, I know seeing a grown man do i little chode jump would look stupid but it would help ALOT in the game.

  • XD i cant believe someone even THINKS Mafia 2 is better than The Godfather 2 HAHAHAHA

btw, the godfather has a movie so it doesnt really need to tell its story that much.

  • The Godfather 2 runs laps over mafia 2

  • Now if they had combined what Mafia 2 had accomplished with graphics, Powerful weapons and mixed it with customizing your Family, giving them the choices, and ways of attacking your enemies like in Godfather 2, Godfather 2 would have been a better game, I still love both games but i like The Godfather 2 a bit more cuz i love the movies :P

  • Mafia 2 is better i think..

But Mafia 2 is surely not better than the first mafia Part!!

  • BOTH! I got Bothhh like a boss

  • the godfhather 2

  • @walker834 i do

  • @Vostadues well... im ok with GTA IV's graphics but gameplay i think... "it sux" xD
