Because they can't all be winners, we feel compelled to present to you the year's Dubious Honors, a not-so-proud GameSpot tradition since 1996. These are the games whose accomplishments are, let's say, different.

These certainly aren't the worst games of the year--on the contrary, some of the year's best games find their way into our Dubious Honors category. However, for one reason or another, all these games left something of a sour taste in our mouths, and we know we're not alone. So, won't you join us for a little rubbernecking?

  • True...but needless advertisement is still needless advertisement...which Gamespot has in spades.

A billboard in MxO advertising Discovery channel? ok...well i have billboards in my city that has the same thing, so why should that be a complaint? Burnout? same thing.

A video game based website advertising shoes?!?....yeah.

  • "A billboard in MxO advertising Discovery channel? ok...well i have billboards in my city that has the same thing,"

That's not the problem. If the game had fake advertisements, then they wouldn't complain.

    "which Gamespot has in spades."

Which all sites use to stay afloat.

    Like IGN or Something Awful.

  • Eh...product placement in MxO actually fits because it's supposed to be in the 'real' world...so naturally a city should have billboards.

But we'll ignore the product placement and advertisements on the Gamespot homepage....yeah.

  • There's a difference between a website and games.
