@connn2 They never moved beyond the 1950s and McCarthyism. It's that simple. I am horribly ashamed to be an American for the last 10 years. Not because I dislike my country, but because the batshit insane right wing somehow represents us in the eyes of the world.
According to the right wing, being racist, anti-LGBT rights and being anti-women's rights is being "American".

Right ... if the conservative movement is so spectacularly large then why have the republicans lost the last two major elections? Not only lost, but annihilated by democrats. Silent majority? I don't think so ... face it, you're now the screaming minority.
You lost the election. You lost congress. You lost the White House. Your policies and ideals aren't wanted nor supported by the majority of Americans. You lost. Get over it.

What gets me the most about conservatives is that when Bush was in power, we were told that if you speak against the president, your un-american, unpatriotic and your with the terrorists.
